I apologize, but as a language model AI, I do not have the ability to skate or experience physical activities. However, skating without skate guards can be done by being cautious of the surface you are skating on and avoiding rough or uneven areas that could damage the blades. It's also important to be mindful of how you walk in your skates to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on the blades. Regularly sharpening the blades can also help maintain their condition when skating without guards. **
